I am graduate of the University of Alberta (U of A, Edmonton, Canada) holding a PhD degree in Biochemistry
with extensive research focused on exploring therapeutics for inflammation and inflammation related cancers.
During my years at the U of A, I applied and received several scholarships and grants including the Doctoral
Recruitment Scholarship (2013, 10,000$), the Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017,
52,500$), the Women and Children Health Research Institute Award (2017, 18,000$) and the Hair Massacure
Grant (2015, 22,000$). My former education comes as a graduate of the American University of Beirut (AUB)
holding a Master’s Degree in Biology.
Prior to starting my PhD, I held several positions with both academic and administrative roles. My experience
extends into human development as an UNESCO certified professional human development trainer.
For the years between 2006 and 2013, I was a lecturer at the Lebanese International University (LIU). Higher
education lecturiing is a task I enjoyed and mastered, adding a lot to my knowledge and skills.
In 2010, I took a lead position as a principal for the High School Program at Al-Abrar Educational Center (AEC),
Lebanon. I was responsible for the academic and administrative follow up of 40 teachers and about 300 students
until 2012. This position has provided me with both administrative and educational policy skills which broadened
my view on education.
In 2012, I established a professional development center (Tatweer Professional Development Center) in
association with the Rawafid Educational Center, concerned with providing professional training and development
for employees and volunteers in sectors such as education, health and arts.
Through both my graduate studies and career positions, I learned how to apply my theoretical skills into practical
functional ideas. I practiced and applied time management skills even under the pressure of both graduate school
and teaching requirements. In addition, I have acquired several computer-based skills, more specifically the talent
of presenting data and analysis of data and information.
My volunteer work has always been something I look up to and continuously learn from. I believe it is a way to
pay back to the communities. I am currently the founder and coach at the Liwa Soccer Academy for kids aging 6
to 18 years. During my Master’s program I was a member of a research organization called (IBSAR) at the AUB
concerned with studying the biodiversity and therapeutic potential discoveries. I was also a member of Worldwide
Alumni Association of AUB (WAAAUB)-Bekaa Chapter, that aimed to spread education and health awareness in
the Bekaa communities. Along with colleagues in the WAAAUB, we worked through a set of talks, workshops
and visits across the country to fulfill the mission of AUB. I believe both my knowledge and expertise can be
employed and developed at a reputable university such as MUBS.
